SaloneWeather Privacy Policy

SaloneWeather respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of its users. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use SaloneWeather, the application may collect:

• Your name and email address (used to create and manage your account)
• A unique user identifier assigned to your account
• Saved cities and saved locations you choose to bookmark
• Favorite locations (where currently supported)
• Preferred language and application preferences
• Weather alert preferences and notification preferences
• Search terms you enter in the city and content search (SearchLog)
• Device location, only when you grant permission
• Information voluntarily submitted through support, contact, or feedback forms

SaloneWeather does not collect photos, advertising identifiers, financial data, or device advertising identifiers. We do not sell your personal information.

How Information Is Used

Information may be used to:

• Provide current weather information, hourly and 7-day forecasts, air quality, and UV index
• Display weather for your selected or saved locations
• Provide enabled weather alerts and rainfall information
• Send requested weather summaries by email
• Personalize your experience and maintain account functionality
• Maintain application security and improve reliability
• Understand which locations and content users search for, to improve SaloneWeather
• Respond to support, contact, and feedback requests

Location Information

SaloneWeather may request device location permission. Location access is used only to provide weather relevant to your area. We ask for location only after you choose to use the "Use my location" feature, and we explain why before requesting permission. You can deny access and search for a location manually. You can withdraw location permission at any time through your device or browser settings.

Your precise GPS coordinates are used temporarily to fetch weather for your area and are not permanently stored as a standalone record unless you choose to save that location. Saved location coordinates are stored with your account so you can access them again. Location is sent to our secure backend, which contacts the weather provider — it is not sent directly from your device to third parties.

Weather Data and Third-Party Services

SaloneWeather uses third-party weather data services, including OpenWeatherMap. Weather data comes from these providers and is presented in a simple format. Requests are routed through secure application infrastructure, and API credentials remain protected on the server. API keys are never intentionally exposed to users or embedded in frontend code. The following third-party services are currently involved in operating SaloneWeather:

• OpenWeatherMap — weather, forecasts, air quality, and UV index data
• OpenStreetMap — base map tiles for the interactive weather map
• Base44 platform — hosting, authentication, database, and email delivery
• Google Sign-In — optional third-party authentication provider

Notifications

SaloneWeather provides in-app and browser notifications. These work only while the app is open and are not native background push notifications. They are not guaranteed or real-time and will not arrive when the app is closed. You can manage optional notification preferences in your settings at any time. Disabled notification channels are not sent messages.

Analytics and Product Interaction

SaloneWeather records the search terms entered in the city and content search (SearchLog) and limited audit records of administrative actions, to understand usage and maintain security. These records are associated with your account identifier where applicable and are accessible only to administrators. We do not use third-party advertising analytics.

Data Security

Leone Tech & AI Academy uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. API keys and secrets are stored securely on the server, authentication is managed by the platform, user data access is restricted through access-control rules, and administrative data is protected. However, no internet-based system can guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

Personal information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to provide SaloneWeather services, maintain security and operations, or meet applicable obligations. Search logs and feedback are retained for as long as needed to provide and improve the service and are removed when you delete your account. A specific automated retention period for search logs has not yet been configured; this remains an outstanding item and will be addressed in a future update.

Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time from Account Settings, or without signing in via the Account Deletion Instructions page. Account deletion erases your saved locations, favorites, subscriptions, personal alerts, search logs, feedback, contact messages, and notification preferences, then removes or deactivates your account. If the platform cannot fully remove your account record immediately, it is deactivated and the remaining record is fully removed by our team, usually within 7 days. Repeated deletion requests are handled safely.

Children's Privacy

SaloneWeather is a general weather information service and does not intentionally seek unnecessary personal information from children. No specific age threshold has been formally adopted or implemented at this time.

Privacy Policy Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated as the application develops or as legal, operational, privacy, or security requirements change. The last updated date is shown above.
